the book of John 2 - Jesus Clears the Temple Courts

ree

“When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” 17 His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”

18 The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?” 19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” 20 They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21 But the temple he had spoken of was…

the book of John 2 - The Wedding and the Wine

ree
"Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim."

John 2:1-12 “On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” 4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”

5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. 7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. 8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.…

How to become a Godly Woman- Living in an age struggling to define what a woman is! Part 1

ree
"What is a woman?" "I would simply tell you, 'ask the God who made her.' Jackie Hill Perry

Why is culture working so hard to erase differences between Male and Female?

It’s no shock to anyone that our culture is really struggling. Culture & feminism has brought us to a bizarre point where we cannot even define a woman - how confusing is that?

The feminist movement began for the protection and advocacy of woman in society to ensure they were given equal rights, like education opportunities, voting rights, etc. and were overall treated equally and protected. Feminism has done a lot of good over the years. But, today's feminism seems to have progressed to an odd place in society where they have blurred lines on the area of what a woman is and are unwilling to acknowledge the humanness of the unborn.

Sadly, we are living in a day and age where culture wants to erase the unique and beautiful differences between male and female.

In the book…

Fruit of the Spirit - SELF CONTROL

ree
"...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control..." Galatians 5:22,23

Today we close with - Self Control.

As we have been taking a look at the the fruit of the Spirit, I pray you are learning that it is the working of the Holy Spirit in us that brings about change in our heart, mind, spirit and in our over all character.

Philippians 2:13 says that "it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure."

Ephesians 2:8-9, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast."

If we are honest, we all know we struggle with self-control.

John 1:4-13

“In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him. 11 He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him. 12 Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”

John 1:14-18

ree
“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

(John testified concerning Him. He cried out, saying, “This is the One I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.’”)

Out of His fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made Him known.”

Key Points:

  • What did becoming human all involve for Jesus – God the Son?
