Learning to Rely On God

It is normal for us to wander from the Lord in the midst of hard times - (even more so during our best days.)

What if those struggles and even detours were actually meant for your good?

What if God needed you to go through a struggle to find God, mold you, grow you, and sanctify you into a mature believer?

What if what you were going through was for you and not to you?

What if He needed these struggles to help you let go of idols you were holding onto that were actually self destructive?

Or maybe He needed you to see that your affections were misplaced and leaving you feeling empty and alone.

Since we are human and we often times see trials as God turning His back on us- instead of choosing to run to Him- we turn away and became bitter.

Every season of life are moments where God is calling you to grow in Him and learn how to depend more fully on Him.

In our darkest days is where we often get to truly see how good God is because He is all we have that can truly comfort and meet our deepest needs.

It is where He becomes real.

There is so much to learn from our good and wise, loving Father : that He is merciful and kind, that He draws near to the broken-hearted, that He is compassionate, and to loves us so well.

Our purpose is to know, love, and be more like Jesus.

Therefore, we must move towards Him in our times of trials if we are to become more like him.

Our lives will never be perfect. As you continue to allow Him to remove certain areas in your life - you will find greater freedom and joy in your walk with God.

We will continue to fight battles, endure hardships, struggle with confusion amidst them all. But Jesus tells us this, “For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!” John 16:33.

Your turn:

1. This week, make a commitment to continue to make it your goal to grow in the likeness of Jesus Christ and pray that He will help you.

2. Continue to surrender areas of your life you know feel the Lord is prompting you to give to Him.

3. Then, trust him to lead, guide, and direct you into his perfect will for you here on Earth
